    • 1). Open the photo in the Paint program. Go to the "Image" menu at the top of the screen and click to bring up the drop-down menu. Select the "Re-size/Skew..." option.

    • 2). View the the numbers next to "Horizontal" and "Vertical" within the "Re-size" box. They should read as 100 percent. Change these to a lower number, depending upon how much smaller you want to make the photo. Make both of these numbers the same or your photo will become warped. Click "OK." This will take you back to the main screen where you will see your newly re-sized photo.

    • 3). Go back to the Image menu and select "Attributes..." The numbers in the "Width" and "Height" boxes will tell you how many mega pixels your picture has been shrunk to. If the size is one that you're happy with, click "OK."

    • 4). Change the picture again, if it's still too large or you've shrunk it too small, by clicking "Cancel." Go to the "Edit" menu at the top of the screen and choose "Undo." Then repeat the process using different numbers in the re-size box.
