How to Upgrade to Drupal 7
- 1). Determine the current version of Drupal on your system. To access this information in Drupal 6.0 or later, follow this path in your Drupal Admin tab: Administration >> Reports >> Status report. In Drupal 5.x and earlier, follow the path: Administer >> Logs >> Status report.
- 2). Go to the Drupal Web page and check the most current minor release for your major release version number. Download and install the most current minor release if you currently do not have it. As an example, if the current release is Drupal 6.8 and you have Drupal 6.3, you will need to upgrade to 6.8 before continuing.
- 3). Download and install the most current major release, up until Drupal 7, without skipping any major releases. You will need to download the most current version of Drupal 6 and then download Drupal 7 if Drupal 5.x currently runs on your system.
