How Do You Kill Ticks Outside?
- 1). Clear your yard of debris such as scrap metals, piles of wood or other materials that ticks could use as shelter. Remove birdbaths and animal feeders. Animals that come into your yard could bring ticks with them.
- 2). Rake leaves and dispose of them in an area away from your house and yard. Don't just put them in a trash bag or can on your property, because the ticks could crawl back into your yard.
- 3). Cut your lawn and trim the weeds around your house, in your garden and along the edge of the woods.
- 4). Spray your lawn with a pesticide formulated to kill ticks. Start at the base of your house and move outward. Use this as a last resort and only if your lawn is infested with a large number of ticks.
