How to Set a Paging File

    • 1). Log in to your computer, click on the Start button, click the Run option, type "SYSDM.CPL" in the Run box and hit the OK button.

    • 2). Click the Advanced tab and then click the Settings button under the Performance section.

    • 3). Click the Advanced tab and then click the Change button under the Virtual Memory section.

    • 4). Select the drive that contains the paging file for your computer. Click on the Custom Size button and enter in a new size for your paging file. This size requires a minimum size (in MB, or megabytes) and a maximum size (also in MB).

    • 5). Click the Set button and then click the OK button to apply the changes. You will need to restart Windows to have the computer use the new paging file size you defined.
