    • 1). Click on the "Start" button and select "Run." Type "%systemroot%\inf" without quotes into the text box and click "OK." The INF folder will open.

    • 2). Find the mstask.inf file and right click on it. Click "Install." A prompt will appear requesting that you insert your Windows CD into the disk drive.

    • 3). Insert your Windows CD into your drive and restart your computer. This will reinstall Task Manager.
