MSN Connector Virus Removal
- Unlike a traditional virus, Trojan Horse viruses like the MSN connector do not spread themselves. Instead, these viruses disguise themselves as regular software. The MSN connector virus creates a pop-up ad that asks users to provide information about their MSN account. You should never enter information into these pop-up windows.
- Microsoft provides a free anti-virus program called Safety Scanner that can remove the MSN connector virus. Download and run the program (link in Resources section); hit the "Scan Now" button to remove all virus threats from your computer.
- Any third-party anti-virus program, such as Norton, can remove the MSN connector virus. Open your anti-virus program and click on the button marked "Scan Now" or similar designation to begin the search process. Once the virus is identified, the program should prompt you to remove the threat. Select "OK" or "Remove" to delete the virus. Make sure you update your virus definitions regularly.
