Uninstall Printers and Printer Drivers

• 1). Open the Printers control panel by clicking "Start," then "Printers and Faxes."
  
  
• 2). Remove all printers by right-clicking on them, clicking "Delete," then confirming by clicking "Yes."
  
  
• 3). Open the Print Server Properties window by clicking "File" in the Printers window, then clicking "Server Properties."
  
  
• 4). Click the "Drivers" tab at the top of the Print Server Properties window.
  
  
• 5). Remove all installed printer drivers by clicking them, clicking "Remove," then confirming by clicking "Yes."
  
  

Edit the Registry

• 1). Open the Registry Editor by clicking "Start," clicking "Run," typing "regedit.exe" into the "Run" window, then clicking "OK."
  
  
• 2). Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-2" using the plus signs next to the registry keys in the Registry Editor window and delete all items in the "Version-2" folder by right-clicking them, clicking "Delete," then clicking "Yes."
  
  
• 3). Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-3" and delete all items in the "Version-3" folder by right-clicking them, clicking "Delete," then clicking "Yes."
  
  
• 4). Navigate to "KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-2" and delete all items in the "Version-2" folder by right-clicking them, clicking "Delete," then clicking "Yes."
  
  
• 5). Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-3" and delete all items in the "Version-3" folder by right-clicking them, clicking "Delete," then clicking "Yes."
  
  
• 6). Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors" and delete any item that is not "AppleTalk Printing Devices," "BJ Language Monitor," "Local Port," "PJL Language Monitor," "Standard TCP/IP Port," "USB Monitor" or "Windows NT Fax Monitor" by right-clicking it, clicking "Delete," then clicking "Yes."
  
  
• 7). Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Print\Monitors" and delete any item that is not "AppleTalk Printing Devices," "BJ Language Monitor," "Local Port," "PJL Language Monitor," "Standard TCP/IP Port," "USB Monitor" or "Windows NT Fax Monitor" by right-clicking it, clicking "Delete," then clicking "Yes."
  
  
• 8). Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers" and delete all items in the "Printers" folder by right-clicking them, clicking "Delete," then clicking "Yes."
  
  
• 9). Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Print\Printers" and delete all items in the "Printers" folder by right-clicking them, clicking "Delete," then clicking "Yes."

  Restart your computer by clicking "Start," "Shut Down," then "Restart."
  
  

Reinstall Printers

• 1). Open the Printers control panel by clicking "Start," then "Printers and Faxes."
  
  
• 2). Double-click "Add Printer."
  
  
• 3). Click "Next" in the "Add Printer Wizard" welcome window.
  
  
• 4). Automatically search for and reinstall the printer by clicking "Local Printer" in the "Add Printer Wizard" window, then clicking "Next."
