How to Make Two Columns in Vista Word
- 1). Open a document in Microsoft Word. Select the "Page Layout" tab from the toolbar and click the arrow under "Columns."
- 2). Choose the two-column option from the drop-down menu to format two columns of equal width.
- 3). Select "More Columns" from the drop-down menu to choose a custom column width. Click the icon displaying two columns, or type "2" into the text box.
- 4). Type the desired width for column one in inches in the appropriate box. Use the up or down arrow to set the spacing between the two columns. Look at the Preview box for a visual example of the formatting.
- 5). Uncheck the "Equal Column Width" box. The width of column two now changes automatically depending on the amount of space left in the document. Click "OK" to apply these settings.
