Making Differently-Abled People the Boost That They Need
Having a disability is such a great challenge to anybody who has it.
While everybody has limitations, people with disabilities are perceived to be less capable than the average person.
That is why a lot of people have a tendency to underestimate, if not look down, on people with these disabilities, making them victims of many different kinds of discrimination as well as wrongful termination in California.
But despite their condition, these people should be treated with the same respect and care as every other person.
Differently-abled, not disabled What not a lot of people know is that given such disabilities, people with disabilities can have special capabilities that normal people doesn't have, compensating for their limitations.
That is why nobody cannot, and should not, discount the talents and capabilities of these people.
Time and again, these people have shown more way than one that they can contribute to society, hence they are better called "differently abled" than "disabled".
Supporting people with different capabilities The US Department of Labor acknowledges these realities and that is why they have programs that are aimed at helping these people by giving grants to provide education, training and employment opportunities to the youth and adults with disabilities.
Just recently, the agency announced the distribution of $18,597,758 worth of grants to eight states.
This program is funded and administered jointly by the Employment and Training Administration and Office of Disability Employment Policy.
For groups to receive grants, they should be able to do the following:
Helping people with disabilities get a level playing field Such programs are a great boost to the moral of these people affected by different kinds of disabilities.
By giving them the assistance that they need, they can be made more competitive and productive members of society.
Sometimes, these people don't need our pity, but real help that can make them believe and trust themselves more.
