How to Repair an Evaporator Distributor

    • 1). Use a wrench to tighten the distributor trough (the narrow receptacle part of the distributor) to stop water from escaping from high pressure. Make sure the distributor trough cover is tightened as well.

    • 2). Replace the evaporator pad if it becomes corroded with lime deposits. Dirty pads will slow down and stop the water from flowing through the distributor trough.

    • 3). Verify that the distributor trough is completely level on all sides if water does not flow through every hole in the part. Use a liquid detergent that does not produce suds and a clean cloth to clean out the notches on the distributor trough.
