How to Use Media Center to Store Music

    • 1). Click "Start." Type "Media Center" in the search box at the bottom of the "Start" menu. Press "Enter" to open Windows Media Center.

    • 2). Highlight "Tasks" by pressing the down arrow on the keyboard. Highlight "Settings" by pressing the right arrow.

    • 3). Click on "Media Libraries." Fill in the "Music" radio button. Click "Next."

    • 4). Fill in the "Add Folder to the Library" radio button. Click "Next." Select "On This Computer." Choose "Next."

    • 5). Click the "plus" (+) signs to expand drive letters and folders. Place a check mark in the boxes next to the folders on the hard drive that contain music files. Select "Next."

    • 6). Fill in the "Yes, Use These Locations" radio button. Select "Finish."

    • 7). Click the Windows "orb" logo in the top left corner to return to the Start screen in Windows Media Center. Choose "Music." Click "Music Library." On this screen you will find your disorganized and scattered music files, neatly gathered and stored in one place using Windows Media Center. You can then find your music using album, artist or other filtering parameters.
