    • 1). Restart your computer and press the "F8" key on your computer to start your computer in "Safe" mode.

    • 2). Log on to your computer with your user name and password. In order to uninstall Windows XP you must make sure that you all have administrative rights.

    • 3). Click on the "Start" button and then click on the "Control Panel" option. Double-click on the "Add or Remove Programs" option.

    • 4). Locate and then double-click on the "Uninstall Windows XP" option. Click on the "Yes" option to start the Windows XP removal process.

    • 5). Allow time for the removal process to complete and then your computer will restart. When your computer is started it will be using the Windows 2000 operating system.
