How to Add Programs to Windows Startup
- 1). Right-click over the "Start" button in the taskbar. A menu will appear.
- 2). Select "Explore" in the menu. A window will open. The "Start Menu" folder on the left side of the window will be highlighted.
- 3). Click the "Programs" folder underneath the "Start Menu" folder on the left side of the open window. A list of programs will appear.
- 4). Right-click the program you wish to add to the Windows XP program. A menu will appear. Choose "Copy" inside of that menu.
- 5). Click the box next to the "Programs" folder (the folder mentioned in step 3) on the left side of the open window. Several folders will appear.
- 6). Click the "Startup" folder found underneath "Programs."
- 7). Right-click in the middle of the open "Startup" folder. A menu will appear. Choose "Paste" and the program will be added to the Windows XP startup.
- 8). Repeat steps 3-7 until you've finished adding programs to the Windows XP startup.
- 1). Click "Start" in the taskbar. Choose the "All Programs" option inside the open menu. A list of folders and programs will appear inside the menu. Right-click the "Startup" folder and select "Open." The Startup folder will open.
- 2). Click the "Start" button (in the taskbar) once more. Choose "All Programs" again.
- 3). Click the folder for the program you're adding to startup. The shortcut icon for that program will appear. If the icon for program you're adding to Windows startup is already visible, you can proceed to the next step.
- 4). Right-click over the program icon. A menu will appear. Choose "Open" inside of this menu.
- 5). Click on the "Startup" tab located in the task bar. The Windows startup folder will appear on the screen once more. Right-click in the center of the open window and choose "Paste Shortcut." The program will be added to your Windows startup.
