Continental Airlines is the world's fifth largest airline. It services countries throughout the Americas, Asia, and Europe, carrying approximately 67 million passengers per year. Continental Airlines offers flights out of 133 domestic airports and 132 international airports. It follows standard procedures, sharing with most airlines specific restrictions on items carried onto their planes. - Continental Airlines follows strict guidelines with regard to what liquid substances are allowed to be carried on their planes. Toiletries must fit into one quart-sized bag with a zip-top. Travel-size toiletries will most likely fit into this bag. Certain exceptions are made to this rule, with liquids of more than 3.4 ounces. This rule pertains to baby formula, milk and food, as well as certain medications.
- Most knives are not permitted on a Continental Airlines flight and will be confiscated at the checkpoint area. This includes standard pocket knives and Swiss army knives, but does not include plastic knives or round-tipped butter knives. All additional blades are likewise prohibited from flights, including scissors, box cutters, straight razors and most other bladed objects.
- Certain other items are acceptable to be carried on a Continental Airlines flight. These include: purses, coats, rugs or blankets, cameras or binoculars, umbrellas or walking sticks, infant food and bag, collapsible wheelchair and other assistive devices.
