    • 1). Upload your color image to the desktop. Open your graphics software and then load in your image.

    • 2). Choose "Layers" from the menu bar, and then click "Duplicate Layer" from the pull-down menu.

    • 3). Choose "Image," "Adjust" and "Desaturate" from the Menu bar and submenus. Alternately, choose "Effects," "Tonal Control" and "Correct Colors," then slide the saturation bar all the way to the left. Your image is black and white.

    • 4). Select "Layer" and "New Layer" from the Menu bar and submenu. A new layer appears on top of your black and white image in the "Layers" panel. Select the duplicate layer.

    • 5). Click on the "Foreground Color" or "Main Color" color box at the bottom of the "Toolbox" panel.

    • 6). Choose a reddish-brown color from the "Color Picker" or "Color Palette." Select "Edit" and "Fill" from the Menu bar and submenu, or click on the "Bucket" icon in the "Toolbox" panel and click on the image to fill the layer with the color.

    • 7). Change the "Blending Mode" or "Composite Method" selection bar at the top of the "Layers" panel from "Normal" or "Default" to "Overlay" or "Colorize". Your image shows underneath and has a sepia tone.

    • 8). Slide the "Transparency" bar at the top of the "Layers" panel to vary the intensity of the sepia effect. Adjust until you are satisfied with the effect.

    • 9). Choose "Layer" and "Flatten Image" or "Drop All" from the Menu bar and pull-down menus. Save your file as a JPEG or TIFF and print it out on the printer.
