How to Make Peaks Form on Glass Using Acrylic Paint
- 1). Clean the glass surface thoroughly using a soft cloth. This will eliminate dust particles, which can prevent paint from adhering properly to the glass surface.
- 2). Sketch your intended design on the glass surface using a permanent marker. Paint a thin layer of acrylic pigment across the glass, appropriate for your intended pattern and style.
- 3). Add a small amount of texture medium or modeling paste to your acrylic paint. Mix the paste a little at a time until you reach an ideal consistency. The thickened paint should have a texture similar to putty.
- 4). Apply the thickened acrylic paint to the desired area of the glass surface, using a paintbrush.
- 5). Use a palette knife to sculpt the paste into simple peaks.
- 6). Wait 30 minutes to four hours for the acrylic paint to dry. After this, you can apply more layers of acrylic paint to the dried peaks if you would like to alter the paint's color or tone.
- 7). Apply a coat of glass-friendly sealant or varnish to prevent the acrylic paint from peeling from the glass surface.
