Meet the Sight Words - Overview

Meet the Sight Words uses colorful animation and repetition to familiarize children with common words that are useful for early readers. Some of these sight words do not follow general phonetical rules, so children will have a much easier time learning to read if these rule-breakers are memorized early on.

Children will also learn other small and simple words which are encountered frequently when reading. Each DVD covers over 15 kindergarten sight words.

In Meet the Sight Words, each word is presented in black and white, and the word is repeated by the narrator several times. The letters in the word then become animated characters which perform an action, making the word more interesting and fun. Children will then see the words in the context of sentences or phrases. Finally the words are incorporated into a short story which a child's voice reads aloud, and the words are highlighted as they are spoken.
