PhpFoX Vs Dzoic Handshakes - Which is Better?

103 4
While they've only been out for a few years - both Dzoic Handshakes and phpFox have been ruling the crazy and ever-changing world of Social Networking Scripts.
Both of these scripts have been "rebuilt" from the ground up over the past year and a half, and both of these scripts can be easily customized.
With so many features in such a small price range, both phpFox and Handshakes have left their competitors in the dust! AbleSpace, Dolphin and others were once considered competition...
but this is no longer true.
While they are still good scripts (for the most part) they are nowhere near the top 2 (Handshakes and phpFox) when it comes down to overall functionality, support and the code quality itself.
So...
which is better? phpFox or Dzoic? Well, that depends on your desires.
While phpFox is very stable, well supported and has a great community with TONS of 3rd party additions - Dzoic stands very close in all areas.
But, there are noticeable differences in the general look and feel of the scripts.
One advantage that Dzoic Handshakes has over phpFox would be the fact that it's not as popular as phpFox, which means that fewer people have seen the script being used on social networking sites.
The downside is a little less support (hence fewer users).
But, one MAJOR advantage Dzoic has is it's ability to plugin to vBulletin, phpBB and Invision Board.
Yeah, phpFox does have a plugin for vBulletin - but it's nowhere near the quality...
as a matter of fact, I would suggest staying away from it for a while! (There is another plugin available for phpFox called "Lite Weight Forum" which seems nice but it's nearly as much as vBulletin, which is not very reasonable for the functionality it possesses.
) One advantage phpFox has over Dzoic is the ability to lease a license for a monthly charge.
Now, while this may seem like a great deal at first - it may not be as advantageous for those who are more serious about creating a serious Social Networking Site based on one of these scripts.
So, which is the best social networking script? That's up to you to decide...
