Draw a circle above each bottom horizontal line for the goblin's head. Add four thin, vertical rectangles beside the bottom left and right sides of the circle for the fingers. Add a small circle to the inside edge of the fingers for a thumb. Add a small "V" shape inside each circle for the goblin's nose. Add two small circles to the upper left and right side of the nose for the eyes.

Add a long, thin triangle to the upper left and right side of the goblin's head for pointed ears. Add a rectangle to the top of each head for the brim of the goblin's cap. Add a bent triangle to the top of the head that curves around to the inside edge to complete the hat. Add the goblin's smile with a line on the bottom of the face. This line should curve up on the right and left sides to make a smile.

Draw the Celtic knot work in the upper left and right corners of the banner. Do this in the upper left corner by drawing a small football-shaped oval with the upper corner pointing toward the upper left-hand corner. To the side of this add a football-shaped oval that has its upper corner pointing toward the upper right-hand corner. The bottom corners of these two shapes should overlap with each other. Add one more oval shaped football that starts in the middle overlapping section and continues diagonally down, pointing toward the bottom right corner of the page. Add a "9" shape to the upper right side of the knot work and add a reverse "9" shape to the left side of the knot work. Do this on the upper right side by simply reversing the directions.

Add parallel lines around the outside perpendicular lines of the corners and the horizontal lines of the base. Add parallel lines around all the knot work as well. Create a fairy on the right side of the left corner knot work and the left side of the right corner knot work. Do this with a small circle for the head, attach a small rectangle for the body, a triangular oval for the wing and legs and arms with simple lines.

Erase any overlapping guidelines. This will be a bit tricky in the knot work section. You want to follow each band and make sure that you erase the overlapping lines so that the band of knot work appears to go over a intersecting band then under then over again and so on.

Color the background blue and the knot work orange. Color the faces and hands of the goblins green. Color the hats of the goblins red. Make the legs and arms of the fairy beige, the dress purple, the hair yellow and the wings white. Let the ink dry and add highlights with colored pencil. Add yellow to the nose and cheeks of the goblin. Add pink to the brim and top of the goblin's cap. Add yellow to the middle sections of the knot work.
