How to Get a Phone Record
- 1). Contact your phone carrier's customer service department and inquire about the availability of your phone records. Due to increased restrictions when requesting phone records, you might have to provide personal identification information, such as an account password or number or Social Security number. Some companies will send a hard copy of your phone records to your home address for a fee.
- 2). Access your phone account online. Visit the website of your phone-service provider and click "My Account" or a similarly named option. Enter your 10-digit phone number and password or your username and password and click "Call Details," "My Bill" or a similarly named option and download the PDF version of your call records, if available. If this is your first time utilizing this service, follow the onscreen directions to register your account.
- 3). View your call records. Most phone records are usually arranged by date, time and phone number. Print a copy for your personal records. If you need to track calls to or from a particular caller, use a highlighter to highlight each time the number appears in your call records.
