The phrase "Cottage cheese thighs" alone is enough to make anyone want to get rid of cellulite on legs quickly. The problem is that cellulite is remarkably difficult to get rid of, and when many people get it hereditry, its no wonder that 85% of women suffer from it. Everyone enjoys wearing shorts and skirts in the summer, and going swimming is almost mandatory if your heading down to the beach... but having cellulite can be particularly embarrissing at these times. This guide can show you how to get rid of cellulite on your legs naturally.
Detox
Cellulite is an accumulation of fluid, toxins, and fat. To reduce the cellulite in your legs, you have to first remove the toxins to allow the fat to break away easier. You will need a lot of discipline, but it only requires you to do the following:
1. Removing processed foods from your diet - This typically includes soda, hydrogenated fats, artifical sweeteners, and anything containing a large amount of white flour. This should reduce the concentration of fat within the fat cells.
2. Eating plenty of fruit and vegetables - You may have heard the 5-a-day adage, however if you want to detox yourself you will want around half of your daily intake of calories to come from fruit and vegetables. The other half should come from lean protein sources, such as low fat dairy, fish (particularly salmon) and olive oil.
3. Drink plenty of water - Drinking water clenses the body, removing many of the toxins within the cellulite. Drinking 8 glasses of water (2 litres) a day is recommended.
4. Avoid alcohol & caffiene - Alcohol and caffiene cause toxins to build up in the body, which will work against all of your efforts to remove them. Drinking 2-3 units occasionally is fine however.
Exercise
To effectively get rid of cellulite, you will have to perform specific daily exercises. Some exercises which use the muscles in your legs don't actually have much effect, whereas there are many simple exercises which can be done at home (without the need for equipment) that have amazing effects.
Squats are excellent for reducing cellulite on the backs of the thighs (The most common place to get cellulite), and doing only 30-40 a day, and not necessarily all at once, will show great promise after a week, as the cellulite typically looks reduced.
