Cow Body

• To create the cow body, cut out various curvy-lined shapes from black (or brown) felt. Glue the felt onto the white sweatsuit in various places. Avoid gluing patches in areas that you need to bend, such as the knees or elbows. To add a cow tail, fashion a tail out of the white felt by cutting a strip of felt off and attaching a piece of black felt to the end, like cow hair. Glue the tail onto the back of the sweatpants.
  
  

Cow Hat

• To make a cow hat, glue small patches of curvy-lined black felt shapes onto the stocking cap. Since a stocking cap is stretchy, it is a good idea to have a friend wear the hat while you glue the felt on. Next, cut out two teardrop shapes from the pink felt and glue to each side of the hat as ears. To add horns, cut two wide strips of yellow felt. Lay stuffing in the middle of the felt and glue the sides down, so it looks like a miniature sausage. Glue the horns onto the top of the white stocking cap.
  
  

Cow Accessories

• Accessories for a cow costume are simple and can be found laying around your house or at most party supply stores. A cow bell is a must for this Halloween costume, so attach it with ribbon around your neck. White or black gloves would look nice with a pair of black shoes. Add white or black spots to your face using face paint to look more like a cow. If you want to create a pair of udders, use the pink felt and cut out two udder shapes. Fill with stuffing and glue both pieces together. Udders can be glued to the belly of the cow suit.

• Never wait to make your Halloween costume the day before the Halloween party. While stores carry many costumes, the choices get more limited about a week before Halloween. Creating your Halloween costume from things in your house or from what you can purchase from a thrift store. This allows you to save money and still look festive. Also, remember to use your friends as a resource. You may be able to swap costume items to create the Halloween look you want.
