Virginia Tech Ryan Williams Attending 2011 NFL Draft
Virginia Tech Hokies running back Ryan Williams has accepted an invitation to attend the 2011 NFL Draft, which is going to be scheduled in 28th April to 30th April at Radio City Hall in New York.
Ryan Williams has become the ninth player to accept the invitation to attend the 2011 NFL Draft in next month at Radio City Hall. Running back Williams said that, this is his dream since he was six years old. Williams ran 4.53 and 4.54 seconds in the 40 yard dash at Virginia Tech on 17th March at 2011 NFL Scouting Combine. He had some injury worries, including a hamstring problem that forced him to miss four games last season.
"Ryan Williams 2011 NFL Draft"Williams said that, he was happy to get the invitation from the NFL Draft, joining with the Alabama wide receiver Julio Jones, UCLA linebacker Akeem Ayers, Iowa defensive end Adrian Clayborn, Purdue defensive end Ryan Kerrigan, Illinois defensive tackle Corey Liuget, LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson, Texas A&M linebacker Von Miller and USC offensive tackle Tyron Smith. Several players have declined the 2011 NFL Draft invitation.
Williams had announced his availability for the 2011 NFL Draft on 9th January, 2011, after his final two years of NCAA eligibility. He considered being one of the top running back prospects for the 2011 NFL Draft. He conducted a confidential workout with the New England Patriots last week. New England Patriots running back coach Ivan Fears was working with Williams out down at Blacksburg in Virginia.
In 2010 season, Williams had nine touchdowns in five starts and gained only 477 yards. Williams will visit Washington Redskins and the Kansas City Chiefs and he also conducted a private workout with the Baltimore Ravens. Williams also meets with the New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons at the NFL Scouting Combine. At the NFL Scouting Combine Williams registered a 40 inch vertical leap and bench pressed 225 pounds 19 times.
Williams rushed for the 1665 yards and 21 touchdowns as a fresher and he also awarded as Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Year.
Currently, Ryan Williams is representing Virginia Tech Hokies as an American football running back and looking to prove himself in the 2011 NFL Draft.
