How to Make a Batting Cage Net
- 1). Mark out an area 10 feet wide that would be suitable for a batting net.
- 2). Drive the two 10-foot wooden stakes 10 feet apart into the ground with a sledge hammer so they are secure.
- 3). Thread the top of the net onto the cable.
- 4). Attach the cable to the top of the stakes using nails and a hammer so the net droops down between them.
- 5). Fix the net onto the wooden stakes using the hammer and nails. Ensure there is some give in the net.
- 6). Measure 3 feet in from each side.
- 7). Drive the 5-foot stakes into the ground with the sledgehammer 3 feet from each side and about 3 feet into the net.
- 8). Attach the net to these using the hammer and nails to create a soccer goal style net. This style will allow the velocity of the ball to be absorbed and allow it to be reclaimed easier.
