General Hospital Daily Recap for June 30, 2009
Rebecca Receives an Attractive Invitation
Outside of Wyndemere, Ethan asks to meet Rebecca at her place later. Rebecca feels that she must stay with Nikolas for the sake of the con. Right. Inside, Elizabeth is arguing with Nikolas about his decision to invite Rebecca to live with him. She argues that he hasn't known her long enough and that he should wait. Nikolas doesn't want to wait. Why should Rebecca spend time in that little room at Kelly's when she's at Wyndemere most of the time?
Elizabeth finally gives up and leaves.
Nikolas finds Rebecca outside. As Ethan secretly watches, they kiss. The two go inside and, after lovemaking, Nikolas asks her to move in. Rebecca doesn't think she can live up to Emily, but Nikolas wants her to say yes.
Spinelli Changes His Tactics
Jason's facial expression says it all as Spinelli informs him that Jason's entrance saved him from a fate worse than death - sleeping with Maxie. Spinelli wants to court Maxie, to employ "courtly love" - not Courtney love, courtly love. This is a term Maxie doesn't understand, so he explains. Then they head for Jake's; Jason is happy to have them gone.
Patrick is at Jake's complaining to Coleman about Robin being all about Emma. There is no pleasing this man. Robin, however, got a sitter for Emma and comes into the bar to spend the evening with Patrick, making him very happy. Maxie and Spinelli enter. About this courtship business - Maxie asks Spinelli why they can't have a couple of beers and hook up. Spinelli wants to do things right, be a gentleman and woo her.
Then Robin informs her cousin that these courtships never result in actual sex. The man admires the woman from afar. Maxie yanks Spinelli away for a talk.
Johnny is also hanging at Jake's tonight, playing pool, and Olivia joins him. They kiss as if they're alone, and it's hot. Ethan rolls in, drunk and orders a lot of beer. He calls Lucky and leaves a message for him, asking that they meet at Jake's. It's not Lucky who answers his invitation, though - it's Elizabeth, having checked Lucky's voicemail. She wants to know what's on Ethan's mind. Ethan acknowledges that Lucky is right to be suspicious of a relative who suddenly appears.
Alexis is in Trouble with Her Daughter, Among Others
Alexis listens to her daughter yell at her about her affair with the mayor. Then Kristina runs to her room, leaving Alexis and Michael alone. Michael accuses Alexis of always hating him, even when he was younger, when she wouldn't bring Kristina to any of his birthday parties. Alexis assures him that it was because of Sonny's line of work. He leaves as Kristina returns. Alexis tries to explain things to her mother, but Kristina says this has taught her one thing - it's okay to do anything. Just don't get caught.
Everyone Is Involved in Where Michael Will Live
At Sonny's, Sonny and Carly disagree about Michael moving in with the Quartermaines. He's afraid his son will turn into A.J. It's all about Sonny, of course; he thinks that she's angry because Michael chose him over her. Carly quits fighting and decides to appeal to Jason. Michael shows up, obviously still thinking about what happened at the Davis household. He believes that even though Sonny and Carly aren't perfect parents, they have Alexis beat, he tells his dad. They've been fighting since he was little, but at least there's love there, disagreements are all out in the open, and they work it out.
Jason walks in and Michael presumes that Jason thinks the car should be taken away from him. Jason only replies that there are other issues to be handled. Angry, Michael leaves. Jason suggests to Sonny that he let Michael live at the Quartermaines. He's now thinking that's what he should have done. This hurts Sonny, but Jason is adamant that he wouldn't change his past. It's just that he doesn't want this life for Michael.
Jax Tries His Hand at Blackmail
Jax actually finds out from Olivia while they're at the MetroCourt that Carly has been talking to the Quartermaines about Michael living there. Jax says that he needs a favor. He wants her to make a phone call.
Olivia calls Claudia, who surfaces at the MetroCourt, where she starts in on Olivia sleeping with Johnny. Then Jax walks in. Olivia exits the room, commenting to Claudia that she should known better because Olivia would never call her. For anything. Jax informs Claudia that he knows she was responsible for Michael's shooting. So she needs to do what he says if she doesn't want Sonny to find out. Claudia has a great comeback for this - how would Carly like to know that Jerry was involved, and that Jax knows it and hasn't bothered to tell her? Carly pops in and catches the last part of this. She wonders what's going on.
