OK listen up.
Internet marketing involves effort! What I mean by this is that you have to put in the time in your marketing effort to attract leads and continue building your list.
As you put out your valuable information across the internet one thing that is critical is monitoring it.
What I mean by this is trying to understand where your leads are coming from so you can focus on what works and drop what doesn't.
Asides increasing your opt-in rate this will also save you a huge amount of time as you'll focus on what is working and not waste time on what is not...
So how are you going to do this? Well, let me show you now...
The phrase, "You Can't Improve What You Can't Measure," is a classic one and one that applies to internet marketing.
Let's say that you have a website (or several) and you want to know who's looking at your site and more importantly who's interacting with it.
How are you going to do this.
Well our old friend the mighty Google steps right in and provides a solution.
It's called Google Analytics and it is a free and superb solution to track your visitors and more.
Google it and watch a few YouTube videos to get the gist.
The really great thing is that you can look at who's visiting your site including visits, visitors, country or origin, traffic sources, favourite content.
It's amazing to see all this detail and it will help you narrow down how to develop your sites.
Another favourite is Woopra.
If you are interested in live stats Woopra does this a lot better than Google.
Be warned though it is very addictive; you might get hooked on watching it so take care! So once you know who's interacting with your site, testing how to improve it is the next step.
This is where another excellent free tool steps in: the Google Website Optimizer.
This is also part of Google's free analytics tools and is a must to help you develop your content.
It allows multi variant testing.
It's an amazing tool that literally uses the best parts of multiple variations on your site and creates a new super page for you.
You'll certainly discover things that you didn't realise when using it.
Remember to follow the age-old advise of checking out YouTube videos to help you get started.
A third way to monitor what's going on is to use affiliate marketing site tools.
Let's say that you are promoting a product via an affiliate program such as ClickBank.
You can use the monitoring reports to see how many people are clicking on your affiliate links.
Using this info you can see what's working and what is not.
In a nutshell, you have to monitor what you do.
Only then will you be able to improve your results systematically.
