How to Design a Commercial Fire Sprinkler System Installation
- 1). Factor in the spray radius of each sprinkler head for the system as you design the layout. All areas should be overlapped to ensure adequate coverage in the event of a fire.
- 2). Get a blueprint of your building to help you design the layout for the fire sprinkler system. If you can get a copy, you can mark the layout right on the blueprint.
- 3). Plan for the piping of the fire sprinkler system to run parallel to each other across all areas. Space each apart according to the spray radius for each sprinkler head. Be sure to incorporate some overlap of the spray pattern for added safety.
- 4). Add extra sprinkler heads in areas of high risk, such as areas near gas appliances, fireplaces and designated smoking rooms.
