    • 1). Disconnect the vehicle's negative battery cable from the negative battery terminal. Use a wrench or pliers to loosen the cable's clamp and move the cable away from the battery.

    • 2). Remove the factory stereo from the vehicle's dashboard stereo dock. Consult the repair manual for stock stereo removal instructions.

    • 3). Unplug the stereo wiring binders from the back of the stereo as well as the antenna cable.

    • 4). Plug the stereo wiring binders into the wiring harness adapter lead connectors. See the harness adapter manual for proper connection procedures. Most simply plug into the lead connectors.

    • 5). Insert the stereo installation sleeve included with the Pioneer deck. The sleeve fits into the empty stereo mounting dock of your vehicle. Fold the tabs at the entrance of the installation sleeve with a flat screwdriver to secure it within the dock.

    • 6). Plug the wiring harness adapter leads into the two outlets on the right side of the DEH-P770MP deck's rear panel. Plug the antenna cable into the FM antenna outlet located on the left side of the Pioneer stereo's rear panel.

    • 7). Slide the stereo into the installation sleeve until it snaps into place. You will feel two distinct "clicks" indicting that the stereo has been fully seated inside the sleeve on both sides.

    • 8). Replace any paneling that was removed as part of the factory stereo removal. Consult the repair manual for a guide to replacing the stereo mounting paneling. Return to the vehicle's battery.

    • 9). Replace the negative battery cable clamp around the negative battery lead post. Use the wrench to tighten the clamp to the post and close the vehicle's hood.
