How to Find a Marriage Record for Kentucky
- 1). Request your marriage record for Kentucky by writing to the Office of Vital Statistics at 275 E. Main St. 1E-A, Frankfort, Kentucky 40621. You can also visit the office in person. The Office of Vital Statistics has marriage records going back to June 1958. For older records, contact the county clerk in the county in which the license was issued.
- 2). Download the Application for a Certified Copy of Marriage/Divorce Certificate. If you prefer, you can obtain an application in person from the Office of Vital Statistics. Provide the following information: full name of both parties on the marriage record, the date of the marriage and the county in which the marriage license was issued. Provide the address where you wish to receive your copy of the marriage license along with a daytime telephone number.
- 3). Pay the fee of $6 (the amount as of June 2010). Make checks or money orders payable to Kentucky State Treasurer.
