Install GetSPC

• 1). Remove your phone's battery to locate the "ESN Hex" number. The number is written on a sticker in the battery compartment.
  
  
• 2). Download "GetSPC" onto your PC (see Resources). The application is used to generate your phone's SPC (security) code, which is needed to complete the flash. Click "Download Now" and click "Save" in the pop-up window that appears. Select "Desktop" as the download location. Click "OK."
  
  
• 3). Connect the HTC SMT500 phone to your computer using its USB cable. Open ActiveSync on your computer by clicking "Start," "All Programs" and selecting "ActiveSync." The application is native to Windows computers.
  
  
• 4). Double-click on the "GetSPC" icon you saved to the desktop to launch the installer. Click "Run" or "Yes" in the pop-up window that asks if you want to run the program. Click "Yes" to accept the user license agreement.
  
  
• 5). Click "Device" on your phone, when a pop-up window asks you whether to install the program on the device itself or on the storage card. Click "Install" at the bottom-left corner of the screen. Run the program on the phone after the installation is complete by clicking "Start," and selecting "GetSPC."
  
  
• 6). Enter your phone's ESN Hex number when prompted and then press "Go." The application will display your phone's SPC code. Write this number down.
  
  

Complete the Flash in QPST Configuration

• 1). Save the MetroPCS "PRL" file onto your computer (see Resources). The PRL file contains MetroPCS network settings. Right-click on the last PRL file ("02001"), located under "EvDO Phones," and select "Save As." Select "Desktop" and click "Save."
  
  
• 2). Download "QPST Configuration." The tool is used to complete the flash onto the MetroPCS network. Enter the security code in the box and left-click on the download link. Click "Run" to complete the program installation. Open the program by clicking "Start," "All Programs" and selecting "QPST Configuration."
  
  
• 3). Click "Start Clients" and "Service Programming." Click "OK" in the window labeled "Phone Selection." Select "SURF6300-ZRF6000" from the drop-down list. Click "OK."
  
  
• 4). Click "Read from Phone" and enter the SPC code. Click "OK." Change the numbers for "Service Programming" to "000000". Additionally, change "One Time Subsidy Lock" to "000000."
  
  
• 5). Click "Roam" and "Browse." Double-click on the PRL file you saved to the desktop. Click "OK." Click on "Write to Phone" and click "No" when asked whether you want to close the connection. Unplug the phone. The phone is now flashed to the MetroPCS network.
