How to Search in XP Professional
- 1). Navigate and click on the "Start" button, located in the bottom left-hand corner of the display. Then click on the "Search" link. The "Search" dialog opens.
- 2). Click on the "All Files and Folders" link. The "Search by any or all of the criteria below" dialog appears. Type in the search box the file you want to locate or some key phrases located in that file.
- 3). From the "Look In" drop-down box, select the desired drive that you want to search. You can narrow-down your search by selecting from the "When was it modified?" "What size is it?" and the "More advanced options" dialogs. Then click the "Search" button in the bottom right corner of the search companion. Depending on the size and speed of your system, a list of files will appear. Click on the desired file.
