    • 1). Insert a Microsoft Windows XP disc into the disc drive.

    • 2). Restart the computer and boot from the CD.

    • 3). Press the "Enter" key after Windows setup boots.

    • 4). Press the "F8" key to accept the EULA.

    • 5). Erase all of the partitions on the hard drive and create a new NTFS partition. Press the "D" key, then "L" to erase the existing partitions. Press the "Enter" key twice to create a new NTFS partition.

    • 6). Press "Enter" to proceed with the installation.

    • 7). Enter a username after the computer restarts.

    • 8). Configure the date and time settings. Enter the correct date and time into the presented dialog box. Ensure to select the correct time zone. Click "OK" to proceed.

    • 9). Configure the network settings, if presented with the option.

      Install the drivers for the computer motherboard and hardware after Windows finishes installation. Most computers and motherboards ship with a disc that installs all drivers automatically when you insert the disc into the disc drive.
