    • 1). Mix bean and pea flours together with other gluten-free flours as part of a gluten-free baking mix. In recipes calling for wheat flour, you can replace up to a quarter of the total amount of wheat flour with bean flour, which will help to form a complete protein for those cutting out or down on meat. Pastas made from bean flour that contain no other flours are also now available.

    • 2). Use 2 cups breadfruit flour and 1 whole breadfruit as a substitute for other flours in traditional baked goods recipes. Make an easy breadfruit cake with 1 cup of breadfruit flour, 4 eggs, one-fifth cup of sugar, 1 tablespoon of vanilla, and 3 tablespoons of melted butter. Breadfruit flour can also be mixed with water to form a warm breakfast cereal.

    • 3). Substitute lucuma powder for up to a quarter of the total amount of flour in baked goods recipes. Blend it up with dried fruit and nuts to make healthy, raw desserts. Lucuma powder can also be used as a flavoring for ice cream.

    • 4). Add banana flour to gluten-free pancakes, bread, scones and cakes. It will make them moister and lighter with a more airy texture. When combining banana flour with other flours, don't replace more than a quarter of the total amount of traditional flour in the recipe or the baked goods will become sticky pastes.
