Working Every Part of a Muscle Group For a More Sculpted Look

Getting a sculpted physique is something most people (or at least the ones who are working out) aspire to.
But getting that sculpted look can sometimes be a bit more difficult that just throwing together a workout plan with an exercise for each body part though.
As you may or may not know, the muscles themselves have separate parts...
the biceps consists of two different heads, the triceps of three, there are upper, middle, and lower pectorals, front, middle and rear delts, etc...
and certain exercises target certain parts of those muscles.
In order to fully develop each muscle and each part of each muscle, it's necessary to understand which exercises work what parts.
For instance, upper pectorals are triggered most effectively by incline pressing movements.
The lower pectorals are best developed using decline presses and pectoral flyes target the outer pecs while cable crossovers hit up the inner.
Preacher curls help to develop the peak in one's biceps while hammer curls work the forearms as well as the bi's.
The lateral head of the tricep is best activated using close grip bench presses or skull crushers while the long head comes into play the most using overhead extensions.
And so on and so on.
The take home message here is to be sure to familiarize yourself with the various parts of each muscle and then compile a sort of a Rolodex of exercises that hit those specific parts.
That way, when you're planning your workout, you'll be able to choose exercises that specifically hone in on the particular muscle part you want to work.
You can start thinking of things a bit differently as well...
instead of just doing your "shoulder" exercise for the day, you'll be thinking about doing your "rear delt/shoulder" exercise for the day.
Then the next time you do a shoulder exercise whether it be that day or another, you can choose an exercise that works a different part of that muscle (anterior/front or medial/middle head).
There's nothing better than a well-rounded physique and fully sculpting your muscles is the best way to get there!
