In today's high speed, stress filled world is it any wonder that so much pressure is put on relationships.
It is extremely difficult to keep a relationship strong and simply finding the time to work on saving a relationship, is a challenge in itself.
Nevertheless, if you really believe that it is worth saving, you can make that relationship work.
So here we consider three positive steps to saving a relationship and rekindling the magic that brought you together in the first place.
Spend Quality Time Together It is not the amount of time together that is important it is the quality of that time.
Remember what activities you enjoyed doing together and concentrate on those.
It is important that the time you spend together is fun and enjoyable.
So turn off the T.
V.
take the phone off the hook, get rid of other distractions and even pack off the kids to their grandparents for the evening.
Do anything that will give you the chance to re-connect with each other.
You may be spending time together every day, but simply co-existing in the same space may not be helping and could actually be causing problems.
You need to be able to relax from the pressure of life so that you can rediscover those experiences that you both shared and enjoyed.
Talk and Listen to Each Other It is very easy to get into a routine of mindless conversation about mundane things.
This breeds boredom with each others company.
So make time to talk about things that matter but avoid making it a "complaining session".
Relive some of things that you both enjoyed, share those precious memories, talk about your dreams and always be willing to listen to what your partner has to say.
This will help deepen the bond between you.
Remember the Early Days Remind yourself of what it was that first attracted you to your partner.
It may have been a smile or whacky sense of humour.
Whatever it was, don't let yourself forget it and most importantly, let your partner know it too.
This reinforcement of those special things is easy to lose in long term relationships but can revitalise it dramatically.
While, in principle, the above steps are simple it does not mean that it will necessarily be easy.
A lot of effort and resolve may well be required.
So, if you are not confident about it or feel that you would like some guidance along the way then you should consider some of the excellent help and advice that is available on the net.
However you approach the problem of saving a relationship, the end result will certainly be worth it.
