How to Renew your Philippine Passport in the United States of America
- 1). Obtain a passport application form. You can download application forms from the website of the Embassy of the Philippines in Washington, D.C., or you can obtain them in person from an embassy or consulate of the Philippines.
- 2). Complete the passport application form. On the application form, ensure you include the number of your latest passport issued by the Philippines, as well as the document's date and place of issue.
- 3). Organize the necessary documents to support your application. Your application form must accompany your latest passport and proof that you did not apply for foreign citizenship; for example, you can provide your resident alien card. If you hold a green passport, you must provide a copy of the page that shows your data and picture on page one only. If your previous passport is brown, you must also submit a photocopy of the pages that show your personal data and picture on pages one to three and a copy of any valid identification card that shows your middle name.
- 4). Locate the nearest consular mission of the Philippines. As of June 2011, there are nine Philippine missions in the United States that offer consular services, including issuing passports. Each diplomatic mission covers a specific geographic region.
- 5). Submit your passport application and fee at a Philippine consular mission. You can pay the application fee in cash or by postal money order, cashier's check or bank draft only. All applicants for a passport must appear in person at the consular mission since pictures, fingerprints and signatures for the passport are taken on-site.
