The Best Way to Clean a Silicone Cookie Sheet
- If you're going to reuse the sheets for a few hours while baking, simply rinse the silicone cookie sheets with hot water. This will rinse away any cookie residue that has been left behind, allowing you to use the sheet again during your baking process.
- Washing should be done when you are finished using the silicone cookie sheets for the day. Fill the sink with warm water and dish detergent, then wash by hand with a sponge or wash cloth. Do not use anything rough, such as a scouring pad or steel wool, as this can scratch the silicone surface, causing damage and ruining the like-new appearance that these cookie sheets tend to hold for a long period of time. Let the cookie sheets air dry, or dry by hand with a towel.
- If you prefer the dishwasher to hand washing, the good news is that silicone cookie sheets are also safe for use in the dishwasher. When you are finished baking your cookies, simply rinse off the cookie sheet with warm water, and position on the top rack of your dishwasher. Add your normal dishwashing detergent, and run on the normal wash cycle. Let air dry, or dry by hand.
