Kona Coffee - Good For Business... Your Business

105 5
Kona coffee, the unusually smooth tasting brew from a relatively tiny growing region on Hawaii's southernmost island, is touted by some of the top coffee marketers as the world's most sought-after coffee.

If you're running or considering opening a coffee service business, Kona coffee is something you'll want to seriously look into... especially if your business is outside of Hawaii!

A PRODUCT WITH APPEAL

In the same manner high profile entities add to their surroundings so it is with coffee. The relatively limited supply of Kona coffee, combined with its uniquely smooth taste make Kona coffee a highly talked about item in food and dining circles and would most certainly add to the appeal of any operation from which it is served.

Serving Kona coffee is more than serving a cup of quality coffee. Rather, it's the thought of serving up Hawaii, something which most folks (except those of us who live in Hawaii) think of in somewhat exotic terms. And in marketing, when you can bring something exotic into the marketplace... you've got a definite advantage!

Considered one of but a few " gran crus" of coffee, an attribute given to product of such quality it becomes almost a variety of its own, Kona coffee is a means to reach out to your most discerning customers.

MIX AND MATCH

Of course, as a coffee vendor, you wouldn't limit your operation exclusively to Kona coffee... it's a coffee meant to be drank pure, not as a latte or any other of the popular java-derivative "fancies."  Instead, you'd continue to use your common coffee products or perhaps some of the very economical kona blends for those purposes while offering 100% Kona coffee to those wanting the very best in a straight up cup of coffee.

Due to Kona's exclusivity and uncharacteristic smoothness, you would also want to have available other blends for those java-jolt seeking customers that might find Kona coffee a bit too smooth for their taste!

Simply put, Kona coffee shouldn't replace your other coffee(s) but instead add to your menu fare. The very fact that you have "bragging" rights serving real Kona coffee is the biggest bonus since it's something that would differentiate you from most of your competition.

BROADENING YOUR PRODUCT LINE

Kona coffee's exclusive origin puts you into a Hawaiian theme category something which can add to your offerings both for coffee and other products as well. Everybody sells coffee mugs, okay.. But can you imagine the interest around your coffee cart when you start selling "tiki" coffee mugs... or Hawaiian puka shell necklaces? Remember, distributors fight for space in the stores in front of the cash registers... what are your customers doing while they're waiting for their coffee?

The list goes on and on for Hawaiian products you can merchandise and an equally long list exists for all of the very affordable Kona blends which use Hawaiian-style flavorings in the processing to produce blends like Kona-Macadamia, Kona Roasted Coconut, etc.

If you really want to take command of your marketplace you might even consider having one of the plantation/distributors prepare a custom blend complete with your own label on the bags.

Just think, a private label world class coffee... with your name on it!
