Dog Bites and Animal Attacks
They are guardians, playmates, and loyal companions that keep humans happy.
However, due to their animal instincts, there comes a time when they tend to show their ferocious side and inflict injury to people.
As a result people suffer due to dog bites and any other form of attack.
Each year, there are always a lot of cases of these attacks being reported.
However, there are still those who only suffer from such attacks, not knowing what to do.
If you have experienced or have not yet been bitten by any dog, it is always good to arm yourself with the right knowledge so that you may know what to do whenever you become a victim of such circumstance.
The dynamism of the animal mind cannot be measured at mere sight.
This works for dogs, as well as for other animals that are in existence in the surroundings.
You may be walking on the sidewalk, and a dog on a leash and its owner are simply standing by the lamppost.
And as you pass in front of them, the dog suddenly bites you on the leg.
This case has occurred for so many times before.
This also happens in homes where dogs bite their owners without any reservation.
In cases wherein the dog is owned by a third party, whether the owner is your friend or not, the owner is actually liable for the damages which his dog has inflicted.
In some states, dog owners are liable and can be held responsible for all types of damages that his dog cause another person.
Some owners may actually state the defense that their dog had no previous history of viciousness of some sort, however, this is not an exception and whether or not the dog had any history of attacking other people, the dog owner is still responsible for all damages and can always face a lawsuit against him at the first instance of an attack.
However, in cases where dogs are being used for military or police operations, and the attack happened while the dog is participating in an actual investigation of a crime, or in an area where a possible crime happened, then a lawsuit cannot be filed against the military or the police.
This is one of the exceptions to the general rule that dog owner's are held responsible for all damages made by the dog.
In some other instances where the victim was actually the one who provoked the dog into anger, which in turn resulted to an attack, then the owner shall not be necessarily responsible for the damage or injury caused by the dog.
But if you are the victim, then you can always seek reprieve from a dog injury lawyer to make the dog owner responsible for the damages caused.
