Branson – Fun for Groups of All Ages
Have you ever considered a trip to Branson, Missouri, and then thought this is just a town for "old people"? If so, then you are in for quite a surprise. At one point, Branson may have targeted the Senior Market, but times have definitely changed and they are now open for business. Any, and all kinds of business. There are so many amazing opportunities for fun throughout the year and Branson knows how to do it right. With over 100 live shows, restaurants of any type, exciting theme parks, memorable attractions, and they are all set in the beautiful Ozark Mountains, you cannot go wrong with a group visit to this amazing destination.
Branson lets you know from the very start that "It's Your Show!" With so many choices, you can definitely make your trip as exciting, or as relaxing, as you would like it to be. So, when is the best time to visit? There are four great seasons in Branson, though the year kicks off a little later in the spring to give the fine people of Branson a little time to catch their breath. Temperatures can be perfect in the spring as groups travel to the Ozarks. This is a great time for student groups who are coming to enjoy and be a part of some of the over 100 shows that perform throughout the year. Performing groups have the opportunity to attend a workshop with some of the talented performers as well as perform as the pre-show act before one of the amazing shows. Summer temperatures can be a little warmer, though this makes it fun to spend time outside with your family. Family reunions are very popular in Branson. In the fall, when the leaves begin to change, you could spend all day just enjoying the sights. Senior Groups tend to visit during this time, as the climate is comfortable. And, the winter brings Holiday offerings everywhere you turn. Holiday shows run from November through December in order to accommodate that great numbers of visitors to the area during this time of year.
The live shows are my favorite part of Branson, though it can be hard to fit everything during your trip. There are shows that feature celebrities such as Tony Orlando, The Osmonds and the Lennon Sisters, or even Barry Williams, yes, the one and only Greg Brady. There are shows that celebrate the music of yesteryear, such as the #1 Hits of the 60's (and 50's), Dancing Queen – ABBA's Greatest Hits, and Red, Hot & Blue!. And, there are shows that pay tribute to some of your favorite artists of all time like Legends in Concert, Motown Downtown, Joseph Hall's ELVIS. Something that makes Branson unique are all the amazing family groups that perform together in Broadway style productions, such as The Duttons, The Presleys' Country Jubilee, The Brett Family, and "it" at the Hughes Brothers Theatre. Some of our other personal variety shows include Clay Cooper's Country Music Express, Pierce Arrow, Acrobats of China featuring the New Shanghai Circus, The Texas Tenors, and The Haygoods. If you are looking for dinner and a show, be sure to visit Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede Dinner Attraction or the Showboat Branson Belle, which departs daily on beautiful Table Rock Lake. And, each show pays tribute to God & Country, for which Branson has become known.
There are so many activities for your group to choose from when you visit Branson. From golf to shopping, fishing to ghost tours, there is something for everyone. A perfect way to see Branson and have a little fun doing so is to visit Ride the Ducks. Besides learning a little about the history of this great destination, you will get the chance to splashdown in either Table Rock Lake or Lake Taneycomo. For the more adventurous groups and the biggest thrills in the Ozarks be sure to stop by Branson Zipline Canopy Tours. For those wishing to stay a little closer to the ground, you might want to experience The Track Family Fun Parks. There are multiple locations around Branson and they are filled with Go Karts and more. The Butterfly Palace & Rainforest Adventure is fun for explorers of all ages and offers butterfly releases daily. The IMAX Entertainment Complex features Giant Screen IMAX Movies, indoor shopping and the Little Opry Theatre. The Titanic Museum Attraction allows guests to journey back to the Titanic and learn about this tragic voyage. And, Silver Dollar City is an incredible theme park nestled deep in the Ozarks, but featuring some amazing rides and entertainment, and Outlaw Run – the World's Most Daring Wooden Roller Coaster.
There are plenty of hotels to choose from throughout Branson and most of them are anxious to work with your groups. If your group needs a water park, you can visit the Welk Resort Branson to experience their new Indoor Splash-A-Torium, which features an amazing 117-foot water slide. The Castle Rock Resort & Waterpark offers special seasonal packages for groups. Or, the Grand Country Inn and Splash Country Waterpark has everything you need in one place to entertain your group. And, a few of our favorite group restaurants include the Fall Creek Steak and Catfish House, home of the flying rolls, McFarlain's, where they serve dessert at the beginning of your meal, or Florentina's Italian Ristorante. Many groups enjoy the massive buffets that are offered at Golden Corral or the Grand Country Buffet. If you are visiting the Grand Village Shopping Center you can have lunch at Mel's Hard Luck Diner, home of Branson's Original Singing Servers. And, no visit to Branson is complete without a visit to Andy's Frozen Custard.
