How to Double Space in MS Word
- 1). Open Microsoft Word. To double-space an existing document, click the "File" tab, click "Open" and browse to the Word document. Double-click the file name and the Word document opens in a new Word window.
- 2). Highlight the text to double-space, such as a paragraph or page. To double-space your entire document, click the "Select" button on the very right side of the ribbon/toolbar at the top of the screen and click "Select All".
- 3). Right-click the highlighted area and select "Paragraph". Pull down the "Line spacing" option and select "Double". Click the "OK" button and the spacing changes in all of the highlighted areas.
- 4). Set double-spacing on a new Word document by right-clicking the blank page and repeating the "Paragraph", "Line Spacing" and "Double" process. As soon as you start typing, your lines will show as double-spaced.
