How to Change the Start Up in Windows XP
- 1). Log onto your Windows XP computer, click the "Start" button, and then click "Run."
- 2). Type "msconfig" (without quotes) into the "Run" window and click the "OK" button.
- 3). Click the "Startup" tab to reveal the list of programs and tasks that are set to start with the computer.
- 4). Disable programs and tasks from starting by clicking to remove the check mark from the check box next to each undesired program's name. Only programs with a check mark in the box will launch at startup. Once you have removed the mark from all programs you don't want to run at startup, click the "OK" button.
- 5). Restart your computer to apply the new settings.
