  Asians are blessed with dark, thick, straight and luxurious tresses. Typically either dark brown or black, Asian hair is more porous and easily absorbs moisture. This makes it more likely to frizz and become more voluminous. This extra volume can be a problem for those Asians who have a round face with pronounced cheeks. Consider hairstyles that tackle the frizz and humidity while elongating the face.
  
  

Updo with Deep Side Part

• A stylish updo with a deep side part is a great, sleek look that can be worn to formal events such as weddings or proms. The updo adds volume at the crown of the head while the side-part diffuses the appearance of a round face. Maintain a sleek look by raking a dime-sized dollop of frizz-controlling serum through your locks. Create a deep side part by dragging a thin-toothed comb in an upward motion a few inches above the ear. Comb hair across forehead and spray with anti-frizz hairspray. Pull hair up in high ponytail. Use a curling iron to create two large horizontal curls in the ponytail. Take the end of the curl and secure to the hair with a black bobby pin. Repeat with other curl.
  
  

Sleek Hair with Side-Swept Bangs

• Asian hair looks fantastic when worn straight and sleek. Wearing hair close to the face diffuses roundness in the cheek area and side swept bangs break up the roundness of the face. Straight and sleek hair can be worn casual or dressy. Start by combing anti-frizz serum through damp hair. Blow dry hair using a paddle brush while pointing the nozzle of the dryer down. Take 3-inch sections of hair and run through a straighter. If any frizz starts to emerge, take a dryer sheet and run it over locks. • Keep thick and heavy hair off of the face by pulling half of it up. Create a deep side-part to add more interest and dimension to the look. The volume added to the crown of the hair by pulling hair half up elongates a round face. Start the look by creating the deep side part. Tease a few sections of hair located at the crown to create a dome shape at the crown. Pull the top half of hair back while taking care to maintain the volume. Secure with black bobby pins and mist all over with anti-humidity hairspray.
