System Restore Won't Turn On for Windows XP Pro
- 1). Click "Start." Right click "My Computer." Select "Properties" from the contextual menu.
- 2). Choose "System Restore" from the list of tabs in the "System Properties" box. Select your operating system's hard drive from the list.
- 3). Click "Settings." Uncheck "Turn off System Restore on this drive." Click "OK." Confirm "Turn off System Restore on all drives" is unchecked. Click "OK" to enable System Restore.
- 1). Open "System Properties" and click "System Restore." Drag the slider to the right or left to increase or decrease, respectively, the amount of disk space Windows XP can use for System Restore.
- 2). Click "Start." Click "Computer." Right click the C drive. Select "Properties" from the contextual menu.
- 3). Click the "General" tab and check the amount of free space available on the drive. Clear the hard disk of any temporary or unnecessary files until the hard drive has enough free space to accommodate the disk-space requirements for System Restore.
