Apple Asking Its Retail Employees to Test Photos for OS X

Apple appears to be actively looking to its retail employees in search of photography enthusiasts to help test Photos for OS X. According to 9to5Mac, retail Apple employees who have been employed at least a year are being given the opportunity to participate in Apple's Career Experience program.

The Career Experience program gives retail employees the chance to work within another Apple group to gain experience, and perhaps lead to another career path.

This particular opportunity involves working within the Quality Assurance Team that's testing Photos for OS X.

What isn't clear is whether employees accepted into the test program will remain at their retail outlet, or be moved to Apple headquarters in Cupertino, where the Quality Assurance team is located. Many of the Career Experience opportunities include being moved to the host group during the assignment time frame.

I think this is more of a beta test program that will allow Apple to extend the testing of Photos beyond those directly involved in development, but with a group of testers who are still Apple employees. So, I don't think anyone will be moving to Cupertino, although there's certainly a chance they'll be invited for a visit.

Photos for OS X is the image editing and management app that will replace iPhoto and Aperture once OS X Yosemite is released.
