Adding Music to Flash 8 Movies

    • 1). Open the FLA movie file into which you want to add music in Flash 8, like this: Click "File" on the menu bar and choose "Open." This displays the Open dialog box. Navigate to the file, select it and then click the "Open" button.

    • 2). Import your music file into the movie like this: Click "File" on the menu bar and choose "Import," and then select "Import to Library" from the sub-menu. This opens the Import to Library dialog box. Navigate to the sound file, select it, and then click the "Open" button.

    • 3). Go to the Timeline panel (located by default above the Stage) and click the "Insert Layer" button--the first button in the lower-left corner of the panel.

    • 4). Go to the frame in the new layer where you want the music to start playing. Right-click the frame and choose "Insert Keyframe" for the pop-up menu.

    • 5). Click the new keyframe to select it, and then drag the sound file from the Library to the Stage.

    • 6). Test the movie by clicking "Control" on the menu bar and choosing "Test Movie." The sound will start playing when the movie gets to the frame where you placed the sound.
