There are many benefits of walking which can help us lose weight and increase our health. Walking is an amazing exercise, it can help us lose weight and at the same time it helps us increase our immune system, exercises our limbs, increases our heart strength, increases our bodies oxygenation to fight disease and so much more.

Of the many benefits of walking the one we want to focus on is relaxation, walking has an amazing ability to relax all our limbs and muscles, even our minds. When we walk in the woods, by a pond or in a park, we get an added benefit. Nature has an amazing power for taking away our pain and suffering, anxiety or depression and stress.

Walking by a large body of water like a lake or pond or through a forest, nature has a calming effect on our bodies and mines, we feel refreshed and relieved. It is the same ability which all plants have to take carbon dioxide which we breathe out and turn it into breathable oxygen.

Going for a slow walk will greatly help to relax your body and relieve your stress, just take deep breaths as you slowly walk along a path or wooded area or by a nice lake or pond. Walking is great exercise; we even build muscle when walking.

Of course slow gentle walking is more for relaxation then true weight loss exercise, but if we walk briskly, with lots of stamina and we break a sweat we will be doing an exercise which will help us lose weight.

Another one of those benefits of walking is fast walking. This is a great type of exercise for losing weight; it builds our leg or thigh muscles, increases our hearth strength, builds better lungs and of course helps us lose weight by burning calories and fat.

Fast walking or running is one of the best ways to lose the fat on our feet, legs, thighs and mid sections. Walking exercises all the lower parts very well and some upper parts as well. Running exercises everything.

There is even a correct way to walk since our feet are made up of thousands of meridians or life channels, which stimulate every internal organ in our body, one of the many benefits of walking is we actually give our body an internal massage.

The correct way to walk is to place your heel down first then lower your foot so the outside arch touches the ground and then your toes, then when you are about to lift your foot, your heel lifts off first, then your arch and finely your toes.

Heel toe - heel toe - heel toe - heel toe.

This process of walking allows us to touch every part of our foot to the ground while walking and by doing so we stimulate or massage all our internal organs, kind of like reflexology.
