How to Freeze the Petals of Roses
- 1). Rinse rose petals under cold water in a mesh strainer. This will remove dirt, debris and insects from the petals.
- 2). Place the rose petals on a towel. Cover them with another towel, and press down gently to remove excess water.
- 3). Place the rose petals on a drying screen. Do not allow petals to touch. Keep them in a dry, cool area to for 48 hours.
- 4). Lay the dried rose petals on a cookie sheet, leaving space between them. Place the tray of petals in a freezer for 24 hours.
- 5). Remove the cookie tray from the freezer. Place the rose petals into a freezer zipper sealed bag. Seal the bag and remove as much air as possible.
- 6). Write the date on the bag of rose petals using a permanent marker. Store the petals in the freezer. Set them out at room temperature when ready to defrost and use.
