Taoism Meditation You Should Try

103 10
All meditations promote "peace of mind" which is not a long term thing but more like a relax session instead, more like going to a massage or listening to music.
Taoist Chi Kung is not the same, our meditation (sitting practice in general) are not for these kinds of short term effect.
Instead, we aim for a long term healing and curing effect and aim for the health improvement benefits.
Here I am going to share a very simple and easy -to-do Taoist way of meditation for you to try.
If you feel like trying, do so for a week or even a month, you won't regret trying it out because you will also be shocked by the beneficial effects in the cultivation! Prepare yourself First, get yourself a nice bath, shampoo your hair and change into clean clothing that you feel comfortable with.
Avoid tight clothing, nothing like the bike pants or anything like that.
Loose clothing is good because they allow your pores to open and breathe more.
Now find a spot you like and sit there for the cultivation.
Avoid sitting near electronics like computers or TV, garbage bins or stove, windy spot or fireplace.
Just try to find a clean place to sit - it could be your bed too! Now make sure there is nothing that can disturb you in the 20 minutes coming up.
Learn the basics first! There is a special breathing method here that I am going to teach you which is called the "Real Chi Breathings".
There is no fake chi breathings, it's just a special terminology that describes the type of "chi" or energy you are going to use in the breathing patterns.
Remember, breathe with your nose only and the mouth always stays shut with the tongue touching the top part of the mouth at all time.
Breathe in 4 seconds with the stomach expanding, hold for 1 second and breathe out 6 seconds while your stomach shrinks.
This is all done by using the nose to breathe in and out.
Practice and time yourself in the mind for a few times.
Get it? If you do, let's move on.
Real Chi Breathings Cultivation Now sit in a cross-leg position, no lotus position please, just simply cross the legs.
Now, for male, left hand go first and place the left palm on the spot below the belly button, the right palm goes on top of that, touching the back of the left palm.
The female is the other way around.
Close your eyes, focus the vision on the bottom part of the nose.
Remember your tongue touch the top part of the mouth all the time and the mouth stays shut.
With zero disturbance, now slowly do the "real chi breathings" as taught before.
Focus on the counting of seconds and give it a steady pace.
Do these breathings 36 times.
After the last breathing is done, you slowly focus back your vision and open your eyes.
Now take both palms and rub them together until they gets hot or warm.
Use the palms to rub your face and cheeks, up and down.
Do the rubbings about 24 times and put the palms down the knees.
Slowly tune your breathing patterns back to normal and you are done! Final Words Do this cultivation for a week or even a month.
Once a day or twice a day, your choice.
You might find that a lot of the health issues you got before will fade away.
Sleeping conditions and quality will also improve greatly as well if you do this before sleep time.
Remember, no smoking, or drinking liquor / alcohol before or after the cultivation (at least 1 hour please).
If you smoke, drink liquor / alcoholic drink, or even consume any drugs before or after the cultivations, your exercise will make circulate these all over your meridians and you will not feel good.
So please learn it and do it safely by following my instructions.
Wish you all the best in your Taoist chi kung learning!
