How to Make a Wedding Cake out of Styrofoam

    • 1). Cover three to four square or circular Styrofoam cake dummies of different sizes with plastic wrap. This will allow you to reuse the Styrofoam cakes for another occasion. You can purchase Styrofoam cake dummies at any crafts store or baking supply store.

    • 2). Prepare the royal icing for the fake wedding cake. Royal icing is a type of icing that hardens quickly and will last a long time. Use instant royal icing mix and prepare according to the instructions. The default color for the icing is white. Add food coloring if you want colored icing. You can purchase instant royal icing at your local supermarket.

    • 3). Place a Styrofoam cake dummy on the cake plate. Cover the cake dummy with the royal frosting. Use a spatula to smooth the frosting all around it.

    • 4). Place another Styrofoam cake dummy of a smaller size on top of the first cake dummy and cover with royal frosting. Do this for the 3rd and 4th cake dummy layer. Set the finished fake wedding cake aside and let dry for several hours.

    • 5). Decorate the fake wedding cake after it has hardened. Place small figurines like a bride and groom on top of the cake. Decorate the cake with flowers, berries, shells or other small objects.
